TRIPOD

I met the greatest cat in Chico. Yes, he has only three legs, thus the name, Tripod. He spends most of his time on the roofs of cars watching the college kids.

Tahoe Retreat

While the coaches met at a big beautiful cabin to plan thier season, I found the cutest little old motel that looked like something out of an old movie. I explored Tahoe, found a quilt show, walked the casinos and laid on the beach. What a relaxing time away for me!

Still Standing!!

I started planting a garden a few days ago, and the flowers are still alive!! It must be Freddie's help, he is a very good gardener.

Shopping !

Have you ever been shopping for clothes with young men? These guys tried on half the store. An hour and a half later, with the help of a very patient suit expert, they had acceptable, trendy suits. Thank goodness I didn't have girls!!

Freddie Hates Me 4ever!

It was bathtime at our house today. Believe it or not, Sassy Shelby was the most cooperative and thankful. She told me she was a little worried while she was in the tub, but it felt good. Simon was afraid that he was going to die, so he went limp after a good fight in the tub. Thank goodness Jimmie was here to rescue him. Mr. Freddie Mercury thought the whole thing was real funny until it was his turn. He cussed and screamed the whole time. Now, he's not speaking to me. He'll get over it when I pull out the treats.

Retro Birthday Party

The family threw a big party in the park for Coach's sister Tere's 60th birthday. We were to dress 1970-1980's style. I t was fun pulling together our outfits. Everyone came through. Pretty funny! We enjoyed great food, party games, and good comapany!

4th of July Parade

The parade in downtown Redwood City has been a long standing tradition for several decades. I think entire population attends. You even have to go "save your seats" the night before. The streets were a sea of empty chairs.

We saw every city official and marching band go by. The big event if the day was the Battle of the Bands between Stanford and CAL. My favorite was the syncronized garbage men. YES, they actually performed a routine with their garbage cans!!

The Cookoff

Upon his arrival from Chico for a summer visit, Jimmie announced that he had a great recipe that he wanted to prepare. After three trips to the grocerystore, which is when I found out that he didn't have a written version of this recipe, he finally had all the ingrdients. It was porkloin slices and shrimp served with a spicy rice with pinapple in it. I must say it was worth all the trips to the store.
Next, young Donny, who was visiting from Minnesota, announced that he could cook the best ribs ever. Off to the grocery store we went, he knew exactly what he needed. He very meticulously rubbed down every inch of those ribs with his secret ingredient, PRE-BAKED them in the oven, then BBQed them to perfection.
Nice job!

Softball @ Twin Creeks

The Softball Team
You can see by their uniforms that this is a very "serious" softball team...not. We still had a great time cheering them on.
